And I will give you shepherds according to My heart, who will feed you with knowledge and understanding… (Jeremiah 3:15)
Rodney Osborne, Jr., M.Div.

Pastor Rodney Duane Osborne, Jr. was born in Columbus, OH on August 3, 1991. When he was 11 years old, he gave his heart to Jesus for the first time and was baptized at the Community Praise Church of Seventh-day Adventists in Alexandria, VA. Years later, while a student at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) in Rochester, NY, Pastor Rodney rededicated his life to Jesus and was rebaptized at the Breath of Life Seventh-day Adventist Church in Rochester, NY.
The following two summers, Pastor Rodney served as a Literature Evangelist with the Allegheny East Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, which allowed him to sharpen and strengthen his faith by sharing Christ-centered publications with people in Maryland, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. He also served as the President of Adventist Students for Christ at RIT during his senior year. God used these experiences to communicate His calling upon Pastor Rodney’s life to full-time ministry. After graduating from RIT with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing in May 2013, Pastor Rodney enrolled in the Master of Divinity program at the Andrews University Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary in Berrien Springs, MI.
In addition to his studies at Andrews, Pastor Rodney gained hands-on ministry experience by serving at the Harbor of Hope Seventh-day Adventist Church in Benton Harbor, MI, under the leadership of Pastors Taurus Montgomery and Brian Irby. He was ordained as an Elder at Harbor of Hope in January 2016. Pastor Rodney also preached at other churches throughout Michigan, Illinois, and Indiana, which gave him valuable opportunities to refine his growing ability to proclaim God’s Word.
After graduating from Andrews University in August 2017, Pastor Rodney began his pastoral ministry in May 2018 with the Iowa-Missouri Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. In March 2022, he continued his pastoral ministry with the Potomac Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. In May 2025, while pastoring, he completed his Chaplaincy Internship at the University of Virginia Health System in Charlottesville, VA. Not long afterward, God led Pastor Rodney to make a transition to full-time chaplaincy, and in September 2025, he became a Chaplain Resident at Mary Washington Healthcare in Fredericksburg, VA. Even through his transition to chaplaincy, Pastor Rodney remained actively involved as an Elder at the Maranatha Seventh-day Adventist Church in Fredericksburg, VA. In April 2026, the Allegheny East Conference Executive Committee voted to hire Pastor Rodney and assigned him as the Pastor of Maranatha in an official capacity.
Pastor Rodney has written and self-published a book called Preaching Made Practical: A Step-by-Step Guide to Powerful Sermons. Throughout his ministry, he has also authored several submissions that have been published by the North American Division of Seventh-day Adventists. Most recently, Pastor Rodney wrote an award-winning sermon called “Mites in the Master’s Hands” that was featured in the book Generosity: A Breath of Fresh Faith, a resource sponsored by the North American Division Stewardship Department.
Pastor Rodney is happily married to his wife, Kanika “Kay” Osborne (née Hill), and God has blessed them with two daughters, Madison and Renee. When Pastor Rodney is not actively engaged in ministry, he enjoys playing basketball, playing chess, traveling to new places, and spending time with his family. Pastor Rodney feels honored, humbled, and excited to serve as the Pastor of Maranatha, and believes with all his heart that “the best is yet to come!” His favorite Bible passage is Proverbs 3:5-6, which says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.”
